Hotel Leon Bianco is located inside Palazzo Cortesi-Lolli, a 15th-century building, but with much more distant origins as part of the ancient defensive walls of San Gimignano. A place steeped in history, between Piazza del Duomo and Piazza della Cisterna, where the lives of merchants and nobles once intertwined, the beating heart of the city.
The Hotel Leon Bianco has been in our family for three generations, although we sometimes wonder if it isn’t the other way round: perhaps it is we who belong to this building. We used to live right above the hotel, and for all of us, home and hotel merged into one. As children, we used to run through the corridors, our friends would pop into the lobby, and on Sundays we’d have breakfast with the guests.
Many years have passed, but the spirit remains the same. Together with our staff – who have been with us for a long time and are part of the family – we continue to nurture our passion for hospitality, so that what is “home” to us may also become a home for those who choose to stay at the Hotel Leon Bianco.
